 ABOUT US Mount England Estate is located in the foothills of the Fernvale Township, which is in the picturesque Brisbane Valley. We named the vineyard and winery after Mount England, a local landmark, which shadows us. The estate has been in the Hooper Family for nearly 10 years and the vineyard and winery has been established for 4 years.We are an ultra boutique winery that has set our standards to the highest quality for our products. We do not produce any more than 2000 bottles per brand/wine type, but the average release is one barrel (300 bottles). All the grapes that we use are meticulously selected by our winemaker from Queensland only. IN the winemaking aspect, we use very little machinery and most of it is done by hand, including manual basket presses, bottling and labeling. So when you buy one of our products, you are getting a great wine and a passion and a dream of the Hooper Family. MEET THE WINE MAKERAt the present time, Mount England Estate employs only one winemaker – Craig Hooper.
Craig has been the winemaker for the since it opened and has played an intricate part in the development, the set up and the winemaking procedures. In turn this has given Mount England Estate its own unique wine style. Our winemaker was born in Werribee, Victoria, in the late seventies. He moved to and from Victoria and Queensland due to his Father’s commitment to the defence Force. In his late teens, he developed a passion for traveling in the South Eastern Australian Wine Regions and became interested in the wine industry. With the ties of his birth state he decided to do all of his training in Melbourne under the watchful eye of Richard Webb, a well known winemaker who has traveled the world making wine. When Craig completed his training, he came back to the Estate and started the vineyard and winery.
